Responsibilities
The Sustainability Manager will report into the Chief Operating Officer, and
? Builds and Develops the Sustainability organization, strategy, policies, standards and processes for AMG to build up sustainability culture and awareness, as well as stakeholder engagement
? Conducts Sustainability analysis of AMG’s supply chain, including, but not limited to, the Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and reports this periodically
? Leads our customers’ sustainability initiative projects on behalf of AMG
? Conduct training or seminars to promote sustainability for internal users and external parties
? Represent AMG to attend sustainability related meetings or seminars held by third parties
? Prepare submission of application of various corporate awards and recognitions which are relevant to sustainability
? Conduct unannounced visits to suppliers to ensure that suppliers are still compliant as per the requirements
? Works closely with customers as well as suppliers for continuous improvements within the supply chain
? Communicate status effectively to senior and executive management through reports, presentations and individual meetings
Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
? 4+ years’ experience in a Sustainability management role and executing and managing Sustainability initiatives
? Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) certification or similar professional body certification
? Certification in Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 or carbon auditing will be an advantage
? Proven experience in planning and executing sustainability initiatives in a manufacturing environment
? Experienced in writing policies, SOPs and providing training in both Mandarin and English
? Proven change management experience in a senior role within a manufacturing and/or sourcing industry
? Strong negotiator, backed by strong analytical skills
? Extensive Microsoft Office skills with the purpose of reporting and presenting
? Knowledge and experience in the processes of Product Development, Supply Chain Management and Financial Management of Footwear and Footwear Manufacturing
? Excellent Oral & Written Communication and Presentation Skills in both Mandarin and English
? Expected travel within Asia is about 25%, with most of the time spent in China (Fujian and Shandong provinces), but also in countries like Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Vietnam
? Role is based in Jinjiang, Fujian
? Flexibility to work in evenings and weekends, if and when needed
